Pub’en

In the middle of Jægergårdsgade you’ll find Pub’en, a classic brown pub that has been open since 1967. With seating for around 36 guests, the atmosphere is close, cozy and authentic – just like a real pub should be.

The decor consists of wood paneling and dark furniture, and the tables are close together, making it easy to start a conversation with the person next to you. Behind the bar, bottled beers – typically Ceres Top, Tuborg, Carlsberg, Odense Classic, Thor and Newcastle Brown Ale – smoke over the counter, while draft beers from Aarhus Bryghus are often on tap and change seasonally. A popular choice is also an Aarhus set.

Games play a role in the atmosphere. You can raid with rafle cups, roll dice or try the slot machines, and there are darts in two different corners. The service is calm with a smile, and outside there are a few tables for those days when the sun is shining and there’s room to enjoy a beer in the open air.

The pub calls itself the “Leisure Home for Adults” and it’s easy to see why – there’s a warm atmosphere, a nod to familiar faces and space to both relax and have fun.
